Activities 2011

     Tournaments: 
    (Successfully organised in collaboration with Department of Youth and Sports Penang, and Penang Volleyball Association. )
   1)  1st Ho Chee Meng Veteran Volleyball Championship  (2nd – 5th June 2011).  (CLICK HERE FOR PHOTOS)

  3) Penang Youth Volleyball Carnival for 13 years  (5&6 Nov 2011).
 
 4) Penang Veteran Volleyball Championship -Piala Dato’ Koay Kar Huah  (24 & 25 Dec 2011). 
 
Youth development program:

  1) Systematic Training program: 




  • Year round systematic training program implemented with the collaboration with Penang Volleyball Association, Penang Sports Council and Institute of Sports Science, Malaysia.
  • The targeted group is youths from age 12 to 21 years. 
  • The present training venues are Youth and Sports Complex and Penang Sports Council at Batu Uban. 
  • We have started the 1st phase focused at the girls’ category and hope to extend the program to the boys and later expand the venues to mainland Penang.
  • After 1 year implementation the program have resulted in 4 of the players (Winnie Lim Ming Yi, Amanda Lim Pei Yi, Hor Cindy & Fionna Lee Jie) being selected for National Training Camp (Kem Bakat) and 2 Players (Lim Pei Jing & Winnie Lim) being considered for enrolment to Bukit Jalil Sports School.

  2) Volleyball Goes To School program:   
1) Sg Batu School 

2) Sacred Heart School 
  • Objective is to popularize the game and promote volleyball to schools.
  • We have launched the program by arranging exhibition matches at Sungai Batu (Teluk Kumbar) and Sacred Heart (Balik Pulau) primary schools and follow up by sending officials and coaches to provide coaching and technical assistance for the school to set up teams to participate in age group tournaments.
  • This effort has make a positive impact with SK ®Sungai Batu participating in the MSSPP tournament for the 1st time and Sacred Heart (Balik Pulau) making its debut at the coming Penang Youth Volleyball Carnival 2012.
